Does anyone know when the sports centre area will be completed at Rocky Point?
This is one thing this town needs, a place to go to have a bit of fun. Though it may take a decade or longer before it is completed. What about the petition for a Ten Pin Bowling Alley?

Great idea about a bowling alley. There needs to be more to do in town than just fishing and drinking (although these are good options!!). Maybe a cinema as well?
Cinema sounds like a good idea, the last one we had was poorly attended with the sound system not so good, but who would put money into something not supported by the community!
if you want all that stuff move some place thats got it. thats not the point of living up here. if you want every thing that opens and closes you are totally missing the point of living here,go buy a tent, get out and enjoy the most accessible piece of wilderness right at your door step.
I'd love to see a cinema here- and guess what - i moved here when there was one...oh oops should i leave because i'd like to see one open again?
Remembering back to when we DID have a cinema here.. I lost count of how many nights the movies got canned because nobody bothered to turn up.. it was all good and dandy untill the novelty of it wore off for everyone and the vandals moved in.. seeing the lack of community support last time, i can FULLY understand why it closed and has stayed closed..
If it couldnt survive whe the town was more "Community Minded" then there is no way in hell that it would survive now when the community spirit is NIL..
Rocky Point sports centre is phase 2 of the swimming pool and should be getting funding by the end of this year. After the fiasco with the pool, I believe next year is the time associated (realistically 2010). They are knocking the private doctors building down and that is the proposed location. Before the WHAT THE... the private doctors are getting spaces at the hostpital.
