Parkland has to be maintained, grass cut etc. This costs you, the Weipa Ratepayers, money.
Rio has come up with a plan to save us money ... sell it off!
This not only saves ratepayers money ... it helps give RIO shareholders a return on State Government land.
It's a win/win situation, don't you think?!

As a ratepayer I would rather see my money spent on keeping our lovely green areas. Rellies always comment on them but like Watchdog said they are being calved up under our noses. Don't we get a little say in what happens as ratepayers?
